Hands off Julian Assange!

After nearly 10 nightmarish years, Julian Assange was brutally dragged from the Ecuadorian Embassy in London to Belmarsh Prison in April 2019, and is currently awaiting trial to determine whether he will be extradited to the United States where he faces the possibility of a sentence of up to 175 years for daring to expose some of the crimes of imperialism.

Assange is not a Marxist—he is a liberal with serious illusions in the state apparatus. He has no conception of class struggle. However, it is incumbent on the left and workers’ movement and all those committed to freedom of the press to defend Assange against this vicious persecution and charges and demand that he be freed immediately.
